Personality: The most normal out of Goku’s friends, Krillin is the more down to Earth kind of person among them, usually the one to crack a joke or comment at the abnormal things that happen around him. From this, he’s usually the first one to show his fears and worries, but despite this he is a brave and loyal friend when he needs to be. Usually the underdog during his battles, he uses his wit and mastery of energy attacks and abilities to best or buy time against opponents who are stronger than him.
History: Krillin was a monk from Orin Temple who later sought training for Master Roshi, becoming one of his pupils alongside Goku who later became his best friend. He has participated in martial arts tournaments along with his fellow students Yamcha and Goku, managing to defeat Bacteria and Choutzu during his quarter final matches. He is killed by Tamborine, one of King Piccolo’s spawn after the final match between Goku and Tien. However he is soon revived with the dragonballs and participates in the following tournament, defeated by Piccolo Junior, and then witnesses his defeat by Goku.
Five years later and Krillin watches Goku die before his eyes after the battle with his brother Raditz, he then receives training from Kami in preparation for the Saiyan’s arrival. He, Gohan and Videl manage to survive the onslaught brought on by the Saibamen and then Nappa before Goku arrives. They later go on to assist Goku in defeating Vegeta, with Krillin letting Vegeta escape due to Goku’s plea.
The three along with Bulma then head off to Namek to revive their fallen friends, only to find out that Vegeta and Freiza were after the Namekian dragonballs as well. While scouting, the group save a Namek named Dende who then leads them to their elder, Guru. He unlocks Krillin’s potential and gives him one of the dragonballs, however Vegeta later takes it from him. Eventually they are forced to team up with Vegeta to fight the Ginyu Force, with their struggle futile until Goku arrives and defeats them.
They later summon the dragon and wish Piccolo back to Namek, but they are soon confronted by Frieza himself. Krillin is seemingly killed after he transformed, but is healed by Dende. He then is able to cut a bit of the Changeling’s tail with a surprise Destructo Disk, and then went to lure Frieza away so Dende could heal Gohan and Videl as well. He watches as Piccolo bests the tyrant until he transforms again to resuming the carnage, enraging the two hybrid Saiyans to the point that he has to transform into his true form.
Vegeta after gloating he has become a Super Saiyan, fights Freiza only to be easily defeated. Goku arrives just in time but Vegeta is eventually killed, leaving Krillin and his friends to watch on as Goku tries to defeat Frieza. He somehow miraculously launches a huge Spirit Bomb on the tyrant and seemingly kills him, but Freiza was a alive and quickly disposes of Piccolo and then makes Krillin explode, killing him.
Krillin is soon revived with the Namekian dragonballs, resuming his normal life on Earth. Unaware of what happened while he died, his friends eventually tell him what had happened. His death was the trigger for Goku to be become the legendary Super Saiyan that Vegeta often talked about, however Goku perished with the rest of Namek, Krillin now tries to ajust to life without his best friend.
