Gohan is a shy and studious intellectual child. He lacks the Saiyan fighting spirit. He sometimes utilizes his incredible half-breed Saiyan potential and emotional reserves to protect those he loves. As powerful as he is, he does not like fighting much. However, when he is forced to fight, he shows special interest in protecting his family and friends. Like his father Goku, Gohan has a pure and gentle heart. Also like his father, he has the typical Saiyan appetite. Though he does not share the love of fighting Goku has, Gohan does love martial arts and adventure. He greatly enjoys being a hero.
History:
Gohan is the son of Goku and Chi-Chi. He was born alongside his twin sister Videl. Even though they are twins, they oddly don't resemble each other. Gohan and Videl were a natural team their whole life. Ever since they were young, they always stuck by each other, Gohan being the male, always thought it was his duty to protect his sister from harm.
When they were kidnapped by their evil uncle, Raditz. They were both locked up in the saiyan space pod as a plan to draw out their father. Once their father arrived with Piccolo to save them, a battle broke out. During the battle with Raditz, Gohan heard cries from his father as Raditz had taken the upper hand. Infuriated by his father's cries of agony, his rage exploded from within, causing his power to skyrocket. He broke free of the space pod, releasing him and his sister, and attacked Raditz with a powerful headbutt. As the battle between their father and their uncle drew on, it ultimately lead to the death of their father, which impacted both Gohan and his sister very greatly.
With their father gone, all Gohan could really do was study under his mother's command, unlike his sister who often left to explore the wilderness. As time went on, they trained under Piccolo in order to prepare for the arrival of a couple of Saiyans. These Saiyans were none other than Vegeta and Nappa. They won their battle with the saiyans due to their father returning, and the loss of a few friends.
Later, they traveled to Namek where the confronted and fought a vile monster known as Frieza. There, Gohan witnessed his father transform into a super saiyan, a sight Gohan will never forget. As the battle between his father and frieza waged on, they returned back to earth, while their father supposedly "Died" on Namek along with Frieza. This left Gohan in a state of depression and denial, he couldn't accept the thought of his father dying again.
